Mwala Member of Parliament Vincent Musau has called for an end of the deadlock between Machakos governor Dr Alfred Mutua and the Members of County Assembly (MCAs) led by Speaker Florence Mwangangi.
Speaking within his constituency on Saturday, Musau said that the wrangles being witnessed between the executive and the assembly are hurting the people of Machakos.
He observed that service delivery is being hindered by the stalemate pitting Governor Mutua of Maendeleo Chap Chap Party and the majority MCAs and Speaker Mwangangi allied to Former Vice President Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka.
“The deadlock between our MCAs and the governor should end. The two should reconcile for the sake of Machakos residents,” said Musau.
He said that the leaders should put their political affiliations aside and embark on serving residents.
The MP even offered to mediate between parties to ensure that the wrangles end.
“It’s time to work for our people, not politicking, I’m even willing to lead the mediation between the two parties so that the stalemate will end and our people get the services they need,” he noted.
Musau was speaking in Masii ward where he had attended a burial ceremony.
This comes just two days after Machakos MCAs impeached Deputy Governor Francis Maliti from the Finance docket.
