Nairobi Scouts Chapter defends Sonko’s installation

Nairobi County Scouts  Chapter has defended the move it made to install  Nairobi Governor Gideon Mike Mbuvi Sonko as the Patron of the Kenya Scouts Association Nairobi Chapter.

This comes in the wake of  criticisms from  The Kenya Scouts Association citing lack of  the due procedures in the process. The installation process was conducted under the supervision of the  Commissioner for scouts Nairobi County Mrs. Alice Kiungi.
“This has been the normal way of various County Scouts partnering with respective County Governors, Nairobi is no exception and no rules nor procedures were violated in the process, said Mrs Alice Kiungi.”

Governor Sonko was officially installed as patron of the Scouts movement on 11th September 2020, Nairobi Chapter in an event attended by former Vice president of the Republic of Kenya and Wiper Democratic Movement-Kenya Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka a process the Nairobi scouts chapter  states started  in 2018.
The section rebuked the criticism saying it was not fare for the Kenya scouts association to criticize the installation when  the Nairobi chapter which has the largest membership supported the move.
