Jubilee Secretary-General and CS without portfolio Raphael Tuju was on Wednesday involved in a road accident at Magina area along Nakuru-Nairobi Highway.
Tuju was headed to Kabarak for the late President Daniel arap Moi’s burial.The accident happened after his vehicle hit a matatu.The CS was airlifted from Kijabe hospital to Nairobi for treatment.
Police have not yet released a comprehensive statement on the accident.
Local leaders, dignitaries and at least 10 heads of state are headed to Kabarak for Moi’s burial.
The former president who will be laid to rest at his Kabarak home next to his wife Lena, will be accorded full military honours, which include conveyance of the body under escort on a gun carriage, accompanied by military musical honours and a 19 gun-salute.
His body left Wilson Airport, Nairobi at around 7.40am and headed to Kabarak airstrip for his final journey.The body was driven in a military car from Lee Funeral Home to Wilson Airport and loaded onto a military plane ahead of the burial event.
