Wiper Democratic Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka Thursday held a meeting with Ms. Uta Staschewski, Resident Representative (Kenya-Ethiopia) of the Hanns Siedel Foundation.
During the meeting, Ms. Staschewski briefed Kalonzo on the programmes run by her organization in Kenya, with the main target being women and youth empowerment.
Specifically, the organization is involved in civic education and capacity building.
Kalonzo said the current Kenyan “youth bulge” can be turned around for the benefit of African economies, as well as for empowering political parties as the youth shape their own future.
“We need our youth to buy into this and contribute to our party ideology of Servant Leadership, without compromising their ability to lead,” he said, adding that there is need for a smart approach to youth involvement in politics.
Ms. Stachewski promised to assist Wiper Democratic Movement to strengthen its Women Democrats and Wiper Youth League teams in matters of capacity building.
Also present was the Wiper Democratic Movement secretary general, Sen. Judith Sijeny, who promised to work closely with Ms. Staschewski to ensure that the cooperation would be successful.
