Kenya’s High Commissioner to Uganda Kiema Kilonzo has reached out to teachers and the churches as he solidifies his ambitions of wining Kitui gubernatorial seat come 2022 general elections.
On Friday, the envoy held a meeting with a section of teachers from Kitui County.
And on Sunday he joined worshipers at Victory International House Church in Mutomo, Kitui South Constituency. The Service was led by Rev Titus Kyambeni.
Ambassador Kilonzo has won support from a cross section of leaders in his push for change in the Kitui County Government led by Governor Charity Kaluki Ngilu which has been engulfed in unprecedented cases of graft.
The teachers who called on Ambassador Kilonzo at his Nzambani home was led by Mwingi KNUT officer Mr Mbutu and included KNUT Women rep Madam Tabitha Ngui, and Mr Muthengi.
The purpose of the forum was to woo the teachers’ support for Ambassador Kilonzo’s gubernatorial candidature come 2022 general elections.
The team of over 20 Teachers had a face-to-face interaction with Ambassador Kilonzo and agreed that the Kitui County Government leadership has to be overhauled and new leadership installed in the next elections.
Mr Kilonzo assured the teachers that he was ready to take over the reigns from Ngilu whose administration has been tainted with high level of corruption.
At the tail end of the meeting, the teachers vowed to campaign for Kiema Kilonzo.
In the Mutomo church session, the worshipers threw weight behind Kilonzo’a candidature promising to vote for him come the next general election.

It is the season to change from ” Robbery with violence kind of government to service delivery government. Gvrnor Kiema,will definitely change how people are being robbed of their rights like health.
