The church has vehemently opposed the elevation of the Kadhis Court to an appellate court as the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) committee had proposed.
The church says that Kadhis Court is a religious department which handles cases from one faith only (Islam) touching of cases concerning family matters and since Kenya does not have a state religion, then Kadhis court does not deserve to be allocated any more funding from the taxpayers pockets.
The churches therefore says the funding to the judiciary needs to be increased for it to function properly and within time.
The clergy also proposes for the abolishment of abortion and LGBTQ rights since it does not concur with the normal societal norms.
“Such acts and vices should not be allowed in any civil society since it goes against the value of life that God created and gave us for, ” said Hon. Bishop Margaret Wanjiru, member of the Evangelical alliance of Kenya when members of the clergy declared their stand on the Kadhis Court.
The clergy also wants corruption cases to be treated as the election petition cases with a stipulated time frame in which the cases must be solved.
